Success Simplified: It's Easier Than You Think
Published in Hardcover by 1stBooks Library (October, 2001)
Authors: Richard Riley Conarroe and Ric Estrada
Average review score:

A success book that hits the mark
Success Simplified contains solid advice based on the author's common sense and hard-won experience. The one-rule-per-chapter approach makes the success formula easy to digest. I was most impressed by the author's clear, no nonsense tone. Each chapter is supplemented by an imaginative exercise thar encourages the reader to put the rule presented into realistic, on-the-job terms. The books' content is equally applicable to on-the-job success and success in one's personal relationships. Each of the book's 32 concise chapters is illustrated by a drawing of a Don Quixote-type character who with imaginative humor points up the success rule presented (mostly by showing the consequences of neglecting the rule. Great book. Well written. Sound advice.

Switched and Fast Ethernet: How It Works and How to Use It
Published in Paperback by Ziff Davis Pr (May, 1995)
Authors: Sean Riley and Robert A. Breyer
Average review score:

This book "fills in the holes" for a beginner
I have been working on a "vanilla" 10meg ethernet (campus) for 18 months which will soon be upgraded. This book explains, in very easy to understand terms/diagrams, all the definitions & technical terms required to both get a good grasp on the basics and prepare for the leap to faster networks. If you are thinking of taking a 3 day seminar on Fast/Switched Ethernet or maybe a college course, this would be a better investment of your time and money. The only caution I would give is that it was written in 1995 and some of the "cutting edge" items are missing but it sure lays the groundwork to understanding advanced networks

Sylvia Beach and the Lost Generation: A History of Literary Paris in the Twenties and Thirties
Published in Hardcover by W.W. Norton & Company (June, 1983)
Author: Noel Riley Fitch
Average review score:

The definitive history of expatriate Paris
This book has been in print for many years because it is the definitive history of literary Paris for the expatriates of the 1920s and 1930s. It is now happily used as a text book in universities, but is intented as a good read for any general reader interested in Hemingway, Stein, Joyce, Pound, and company.

With Badges & Bullets: Lawmen & Outlaws in the Old West
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 2001)
Authors: Richard W. Etulain and Glenda Riley
Average review score:

The real West by those that lived it!
Wyatt Earp, Will Bill Hickok, Pat Garrett, Doc Holliday, Billy the Kid, and Jesse James are but a few of the legends of the Old West. With Bullets and Badges they come to life and the stories are remarkable and fascinating.

History has a way of distorting the truth and legends make the truth hard to find, this book takes out the legend and myth and bring you the story of some of the most famous and infamous men and women who have ever lived/

You'll read the way that lawmen "crossed" over the line to catch the "bad" guys, See how the Tombstone really was and how Wild Bill Hickok dies playing poker. The amazing thing about this book is how easy to read it was.

The style of the author makes this book a real pleasure to read. The book cleared up many misconceptions I had about the way the old west was run and those that lived during that time. A first class job and a must have for those interested in history.
